Birthday Visit to London

A customer from Cheltenham who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

We went to Madame Tussaud's - it was alright, but the layout and information is hopeless, and it is far too expensive for what you experience. We should have got DaySavers on the Tube - I wish we had known about them - we would have saved a lot of money. Evita was fantastic, a real experience for me, as it was my first musical - I recommend any cynics to try this production.

New Year in London

A customer from Lewes who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Staying at the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair was the perfect antidote to an incredibly hectic Christmas. Although our room was quite small it was beautifully decorated and very quiet. The hotel itself exudes old style glamour and charm. All the staff were very professional, friendly and down to earth. Nothing was too much trouble and I would happily return at any time - preferably soon! The performance of 'Wicked' was a real treat as we inadvertently caught the final performance of the original american star - a very emotionally charged evening. The show is spectacular with stunning costumes and scenery and a script that was unexpectedly very funny. The Hockney exhibition is well worth visiting before it ends. It is surprisingly intimate and moving in what felt like more than a usual amount of space. Even if you don't usually bother with audio guides the one for this exhibition is well worth it and adds greatly to the experience. We had hoped to have tea at Fortnum and Mason but the tea room was closed on New Year's Eve and not open on New Year's Day. If you want tea at any of the special locations ensure you book in advance. This part of London looks beautiful (think 'Love Actually'!)after Christmas and our three days were a glamorous, indulgent bubble. We had a great New Year's Eve dinner at the hotel which has a lovely restaurant and then walked along to the Mall where we had a great view of the fireworks on the London Eye - without all the crowds. I would really recomend any of the days between Christmas and New Year as the perfect time to get away from it all.

Lively London

A customer from Swansea who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

On arrival at Paddington, hopped on taxi. Friendliest taxi driver ever. Real cockney wit. Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel simply wonderful - everything perfect. Walk in Green Park - even the tramps said 'hello'! Was it something we were wearing!! Amazing French meal at the Boudin Blanc! Real French waiters. After drinkettes in the bar off to the Comedy Theatre to see Donkeys Years. Excellent peformances. A really 'perfect' weekend. Tks Superbreak
