Train down to London was pleasant enough - I am glad that we decided to reserve seats as train was full! very easy to get to the hotel, and check in at the hotel was painless. Room was small, but clean and tidy. A full english breakfast was included, and it was very nice indeed. After check out, the hotel kindly kept our bags in a secure location while we took the chance for some last minute sight-seeing before our train home. Our only complaint was there was no air conditioning - but luckily an electric fan was provided - as it was extremely warm! I had a great time, seeing the sights of London - but the time flew by so quickly, that we did not get to do everything that we wanted... But that just gives us a good excuse to come back to London again (and hopefully Superbreak will still have the east coast break offer on!). I would definitely recommend the Italian Cotto, which is a few minutes walk away. Very friendly with delicious food at reasonable prices!.

We found the best way to get around London was with the underground. Very little waiting and reasonably priced. Best to buy the oyster card with you can put more cash on as you need it. Only thing with that is if you have more than £10 on the card at the end of your trip you will have to get it sent back to you from London transport, any amount under that you can collect at the ticket desk.

Travelled by Oxford bus (free parking 1.1/2 hours to London) to wedding reception in champagne bar St Pancras station. Had meal at Villandry Kitchen. Saturday excellent tour of Houses of Parliament saw Jersey Boys in pm meal at Maison Toureg and return Oxford coach in evening. Used buses in London excellent routes but very slow in popular areas such as Oxford Street/Regent Street, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus.
