We visited London in May with Theatre tokens purchased for us by a relative. We chose the Dukes Hotel as it has a convenient location and stated it was a quiet hotel. It is both of these things, plus has excellent friendly staff. The rooms aren't huge but they are nicely decorated and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly at all times.Car parking service although a little pricey £55 per night was worth it. The hotel was under refurbishment when we visited but other than the smell of new carpet and the odd painter and decorator around, it didn't affect our stay too much. £200 a night for this hotel - so an expensive treat - but worth it for a relaxing experience in the centre of town. A Sunday walk in St James' Park after breakfast was also very enjoyable. We visited the Palace Theatre in the evening to see Spamalot which was very, very funny and I would recommend to anyone. Our tickets for this show were very close to the front, although our view was a little restricted as we were on the far right of the stage. Otherwise a thorughly enjoyable experience.
