I stayed in the Park Inn Hyde park. Fantastic location in Bayswater area. 3-5minute walk from Queensway tube station on the central line. Room was clean, very comfortable and quiet. Would definately stay here again and would fully recommend anyone to stay here. My only less favourable comment is that the breakfast wasnt the best. However that could be because we didnt go down until 9.45 and they stopped serving at 10.30. the cooked breakfast had been there while so not very fresh and everything was running out, although it was being replaced, you constantly had to ask have you got more of.... or can you get a .... However that would NOT put me off staying, I would just make sure I went down earlier. As I have been to London on many occassions, all we saw from a tourist point of view was the Imperial War Museum which I found very interesting and informative and so did my children (7 & 11). High School Musical Live on stage which was fantastic and Madamme Tussauds, which I wouldnt go back if you paid me!!! It's like a free for all in there, lots of pushing and shoving to get to the wax works and certainly not worth £25 a ticket.

A decent base for a short break, very close to Hyde Park! If you have children, pop around the corner to the food shop and buy peanuts to feed the squirrels in Hyde Park - a not to be missed experience! The Park Inn has a very limited evening menu with a strange selection of accompaniments! You may prefer to eat out for your evening meal! Very friendly staff.

The Park Inn Hyde Park is a clean, modern hotel conveniently located opposite beautiful Hyde Park. I would not hesitate to reccomend this hotel on location alone - convenient for tube and shops but away from the hustle and bustle. However, the restaurant and bar were expensive and uninspiring. My teenagers thought the Diana memorial was hilarious. They likened it to a log flume without the log... We were very impressed by the National Gallery. It is free with a lovely cafe. Would recommend viewing Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' if you have kids as they all seem to study it as part of the national curriculum and its wonderful for them to see the painting in 'real life'. Les Miserables was as expected - well known tunes and very competent west end cast. Just wanted to warn others of the perils of the back of the stalls in this theatre. They are terrible seats as the balcony overhangs and cuts of a good third of the view of the stage. Our whole row had to keep tipping our heads to one side to try and see what was happening below the overhang.
