Hotel well away from underground, at least 20 minutes walk. Booked two double rooms, only to be told only twins available through Superbreak. Ruined my special birthday. Hotel clean but rooms need decorating. Breakfast was a nightmare, waiting for ages for tea and coffee, service appalling. Sauna and swimming pool were good, but steam room not working (poor excuse given for fault) Enjoyed the show and trip in London. Sauna and swimming pool good. Do not recommend hotel

London was the perfect choice for our 10th anniversary break. Pleanty to do, choice of attractions was fantastic and a neverending choice of places to eat. The one thing I won't do on our return trip next year is stay at the Thistle Barbican, it was on the whole a bit of a disaster, from giving us a twin room, to having a broken toilet all weekend and the 45 min queue for breakfast was interesting. The staff either didn't understand or could not be bothered, at least they didn't charge me for the upgrade I accepted!

Bargain basement but on the top floor! Supplied with a fan to keep us cool in the sweltering rooms. Furnishing battered, door hanging off the wardrobe and dirty floor behind the toliet. We were asked if we wanted an upgrade when we arrived but as the room was well over £100 a night we thought it would be fine. Whilst in the lift we stopped on other floors below ours and saw nice marble floors and furnishings, ours was a dowdy carpet and scuffed walls. If it wasn't for the fact we were very tired after long days out I don't think we wouldn've slept very well. The fan just blew hot air around the room. The window did open but as we were had a view of other room all in a square the air was stale. Horrible hotel, looks great in the entrance and all floors, but not the top floor. Defianantly the worst hotel in all our visits to London
