The exhibition includes approximately 130 objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun and other Valley of the Kings Ancestors, compared to approximately 50 items that appeared in the first exhibition.
The death mask is not allowed to leave Egypt and therefore is not included in the exhibition. There is no re-creation of the death mask within the exhibition as the exhibition only contains authentic artifacts. The canopic coffinette is very similar artistically to the mask and is featured in the exhibition.
Most of the 130 objects in the current exhibition have never before been seen in the UK. Only seven of the items are repeat items from the 1970s event.
The collection is presented in eleven different galleries, each with its own backdrop and 'thematics'.
An audio tour is included, which is narrated by Omar Sharif which gives an in-depth account of many of the exhibition's most important objects.
Typical exhibition length of stay is 60-90 minutes.
There is no time limit for the exhibition; guests may stay as long as they like whilst The O2 is open.
Due to the delicate nature of the artifacts, no photography of the artifacts is allowed.
No food or drinks are allowed inside the exhibition. The O2 offers dining and refreshment options for before or after your exhibition experience.
