Houses of Parliament, Waterloo & Westminster
Westminster is home to some of London’s most famous sights and fascinating architecture. Observe the medieval Westminster Hall, fabulous facade of Westminster Abbey and neo-gothic style of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. We were just about 200 yards from Lambeth North tube station and about the same distance from the Imperial War Museum. Great for making your way around London from this location by use of a day ticket on the underground (£5.60 for the day). The 2 shows we saw were, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera as part of our package, which were both fantastic value for money shows. As a package with the hotel, with a full breakfast included, this made for a terrific time in London. We will both return to do again (different shows next time).

We arrived in London and used public transport (tube) to get to the hotel, Days Hotel at Waterloo. The hotel was not obvious to find from the tube station based on the meagre instructions on the hotel website, but once we found it the hotel room ok. Room was basic but acceptable, comfortable bed and quiet. They do food until 10.00pm which was useful on the day of our arrival. Food was good, but breakfast was very busy. We enjoyed walking around London and doing a bit of shopping but the main purpose of our trip was to see two shows, Jersey Boys and the Lion King, and both were fabulous and are thoroughly recommended.

A customer who stayed at 4* Park Plaza Riverbank London (RO) in Waterloo wrote this review.
There's so many possibilities for a weekend in London that you just have to be selective and pace yourself! We managed to fit in a visit to a wine festival, a trip on the London Eye, a river cruise and a morning browsing around Covent Garden market. That plus two fabulous restaurants in the evenings, a lovely hotel and sunshine (hooray!)= a great weekend. And all our bookings went like clockwork - absolutely no complaints.
