Train down to London was pleasant enough - I am glad that we decided to reserve seats as train was full! very easy to get to the hotel, and check in at the hotel was painless. Room was small, but clean and tidy. A full english breakfast was included, and it was very nice indeed. After check out, the hotel kindly kept our bags in a secure location while we took the chance for some last minute sight-seeing before our train home. Our only complaint was there was no air conditioning - but luckily an electric fan was provided - as it was extremely warm! I had a great time, seeing the sights of London - but the time flew by so quickly, that we did not get to do everything that we wanted... But that just gives us a good excuse to come back to London again (and hopefully Superbreak will still have the east coast break offer on!). I would definitely recommend the Italian Cotto, which is a few minutes walk away. Very friendly with delicious food at reasonable prices!.

Our tickets to Wembley were a a gift so we made the most of the time in London to also visit the Imperial War museum (which was extremely well laid out, interesting and informative, so much so that we went back the next day to finish looking around). We also went to the Lyceum Theatre to see the Lion King which was absolutely brilliant. The Wembley stadium tour was very good, different to the old stadium but very interesting none the less our hotel (a travelodge) was basic but adequate. It was within walking distance of the main tourist spots and only five minutes from Waterloo station. Bar area was not particularly inviting and our room was a bit claustrophobic as the one small window was fairly narrow and in a fixed position, but bed was comfy and all in all not bad for a short stay.
